Long time no see

It's been a while since I last wrote here. But I wanna write this blog for my own fun (and in best case, to help/inspire somebody) and I feel like if I would start to write just because I have to, it wouldn't be the same anymore. ANYWAY, I just came back from tennis tournament from Newport News, VA and lost my match this morning in the semifinal. I was really disappointed, not too much about the score, but how I behaved on the court. I wanted to focus every point, enjoy the match, and improve my game, but couldn't do any of those. Got really frustrated towards the end, but I'm happy those rackets that I threw into the tree after the match came back to the ground. Well in the end it's just tennis.

This week has been quite a journey I would say. Last week went really well with the super foods like I was saying in my last post. I felt great from Wednesday until Monday this week. THEN my body just shut off. Every single muscle in my body was tired, I didn't have any energy to do anything. Otherwise I was feeling pretty good, but my body just needed lot of rest and energy. I realized that I started to change things WAY TOO QUICKLY and also I just simply didn't get enough energy for all the workouts that I did. Looking back, I remember not eating meat during 3 days, just green smoothies, salad etc. So I learned from the hard way, and for now on I need to take thins way too slowly. Small changes at a time.

I felt physically pretty bad for two days, but during those days I ate exactly what my body was graving for. Even went to McDonald's one day, bought pack full of junk, enjoyed for 5 minutes and then slept 3 hours after the meal. It didn't made feel any better, but that point I desperately wanted something fat, stuffy and greasy. It's normal that body is fighting against big changes, and my diet change was definitely big enough to make those sever withdrawals from cutting of the hamburgers, nuggets, and coke.

After that I've been taking real easy, still eating lot of super foods, trying to buy organic stuff from the grocery stores and so on, but otherwise I'm trying to eat pretty normally (the way I used to eat). My personality is just that if I want something really badly (I wanted to change my diet completely), I need to have it right away, not next week, not even tomorrow, I mean RIGHT NOW!! I guess this is also a good learning experience to become little bit more patient.

SO having learn these things in a hard way, I recommend if you want to make changes in your diet, DO IT SLOWLY! But makes those changes permanent. And also don't think healthy eating as a negative thing. It's not about giving up all the good things that you like to eat, it's more like replacing them, but just with products that are even MORE DELICIOUS and most of all great for you!!

People have been asking how can they start making those changes. What's the first step? Well, there's no one road that you need to start following. If you find something good from your nearest grocery store that is organic, try it on! Have fun with it. Test lot of different things, put ginger in your salad next time, buy organic cucumber instead of regular one and test if you see any difference. Instead of using regular table salt, by Sea salt from Kate's. Things like that. Very small and simple things, but in the long run makes HUGE DIFFERENCE in your health and your life in general.

People who are interested about Super Foods, first thing I would recommend to try (and I actually think everybody should have this on their kitchen) is MSM (Methyl-Sylfonyl-Methane). MSM helps body to build collagen and maintaining healthy joints. For an athlete, it helps muscles to recover from hard practice. It also removes toxic from your body (different metals and other minerals that are not supposed to be in a human body).
I've been using MSM now for over week and I can already say that it really works. I haven't been sore after hard workout ONCE!! It's amazing to see when I use to had sore muscles after every lifting workout for TWO DAYS, and now I feel like I could practice again the next day with out any stiffness. So especially if you do any kind of sport in your life, and exercise in general, I would recommend MSM for you. You would be amazed how that stuff really works.

Alright, it's time to do some other things now but I'll be back posting on some other products and stuff that you can start working on with. If you want more details or information about MSM, don't be afraid to ask. Just shoot me email, write on facebook or on the comment box down below. I would help more than happily!

Have a great rest of the day

Weekend

Yes, it's weekend finally:) It's been an interesting week so far, and we'll see how it's going to end. Tonight it's time to have some fun with friends, and i've totally deserved that. The last two weekends we've been playing in the tennis tournaments, and although it has been fun, i haven't been able to rest at all.

But to be honest, now when I've been in Super Foods i feel like i don't even need any rest. I've worked out everyday since wednesday, and no single muscle is sore at the moment. I just came back from the gym, took recovery smoothie and now i feel completely fine:)

Here's what I take after workout:

1 glass of water/fruit juice
pinch of Sea Salt
1/2 or 1 tsp of MSM
1 tsp of fresh lemon/lime
(1 tsp organic Honey)

The two most important ingredients here are MSM and salt. Salt is the substance which holds water in solution. MSM helps to fasten the recovery time from sore muscles. MSM works really well with vitamin-C, so if you happen to have some good fruit juice (Goji juice from Kate's is so good juice) put it in and MSM and your body will love it.

Talking about Kate's Natural Products, we stopped by there today and it looked better than i thought!! We didn't have too much time to goof around, but it seemed they had lot of good quality organic products. Even my roommate, who has been pretty skeptical about this whole organic/super food thing, bought some MSM and organic honey;) I got some Goji juice and coconut water.

So tomorrow I'm gonna visit the local Farmer's Market and I'm expecting to find punch of good vegetables, honey, maybe some coffee, meat products, and who knows what... I heard they even sell clothes there!? I don't know if i'm ready to wear some local farmer style clothes yet... Maybe I keep my european style for little longer.

Alright, it's time to have some fun!! Partying with my teammates....you never know what's gonna happen.

For the end i'm gonna reveal a recipe for the WORLD'S MOST DELICIOUS/HEALTHIEST/and EASIEST chocolate EVER!!!
(If you live in Harrisonburg, you might get all the ingredients from Kate's. Otherwise you should just come by at my place and have a free sample)

1dl/3oz Coconut Oil
2 tsp organic honey
1 tsp Maca powder
1dl/ 3oz organic Cacao powder
1dl/3oz Cacao nibs

Just throw everything in a bowl, mix it up, and put it in the fridge for little while. I recommend to consume wisely, otherwise you might get too excited, too hyped.

Anyway, have a GREAT weekend!!

Grrreat day

WowwoooOOOOoooowW! I came back home from practice today and guess what was waiting there in front of my door? Yep, my Super Foods. There was also package from Finland that my parents sent me...some finnish candies, salty licorice, chocolate, tabloid magazine called 7-paivaa(good stuff;) and a letter from them. It was a surprise but it's always nice to have stuff from home, and to be honest I've been missing my salty licorice... stuff that you can't find from here:(

Anyway, here's what I got today:

Well that's it! Long list but I tried to make brief introduction to all of them. I really recommend the check each of those products for more details, because couple lines is just not enough the explain how these products help you to achieve better health.

I also prepared myself a delicious dinner, including some Supers.

Have to say that it was pretty fulfilling even thought I ate half of my pasta. All the salad ingredients were organic bought from Wal-Mart (Yes, they have organic foods there). But in the future I'm going to by my organic foods from the Farmer's Market, which I'm planning to go next saturday with couple of my friends. Right now I'm drinking my Cacao/Banana/Maca smoothie and feeling pretty damn good even thought it's getting late and I should go to bed soon. In the end, the meal was SUPER and I don't know if I've ever been so excited about cooking haha.

Here's what I did:

Salad
-tomatoes
-cucumber
-lettuce
-hemp seeds
-goji berries
-almonds

Pasta with ground beef, cooked with coconut oil and sea salt for taste.

I put MSM into my orange juice, because MSM works particularly well with vitamin-C.

Dessert
-1 banana
-2 tbs of Cacao nibs
-1 tsp of Maca
-2 glasses or organic milk
-1 tsp of the healing honey

In the end, what a great day! I got the super foods, package from home, had a good workout, had a great conversation with my buddy trough Skype today, talk to my parents, and lot of other small things.

I'm gonna keep boosting my mood by finishing this smoothie, and listening some crazy beats!

I hope you had a great day as well!

My Super Foods are on their way...

My Super Food order was made last week and they should be here by tomorrow. I'm anxiously waiting to start my new experience with these products.

I ordered the stuff from Sunfood.com. Sunfood and its products has come popular among people interested in nutrition, raw, organic and super foods, mainly because of David Wolfe. Wolfe is considered one of the world's leading authorities on nutrition. I'm gonna talk about him more later in my posts... I'm also gonna introduce and explain the purpose of those products I ordered once I get them in my hands;)

In the meantime, while waiting my Super Foods to come, I've been surfing in the internet and studying nutrition and raw food diet almost every day, and found lot of useful information concerning about my upcoming diet. There are lot of information available, but it is pretty hard to find the right stuff since raw- and Super foods are not YET well-known issue in the mainstream media. But my prediction is that within 5-10 years everybody will know what Super Foods are really about:) Anybody interested about learning basics about raw and super foods, you should start checking out and Googling guys like David Wolfe and David Favor. They both have tons of information, YouTube videos, and other sources available. David Favor is also a guy that i'm gonna talk about later...

I've also done some research about the local supply of organic foods, and supplements, and so far I've found that there are couple stores here in Harrisonburg that offers foods and products that I'm looking for. Kate's Natural Products is one, and I'm probably gonna check that out once I'm able to get a ride there (I don't happen to own a car which makes my life a little trickier when trying to get from place A to place B). Also I found out there is a local Farmer's Market in downtown, open in Tuesdays & Saturdays from 7am-1pm, and Thursdays 4pm-7pm. My plan is to visit there as well as soon as possible. I have a feeling that my Super Foods are not gonna last that long, so these local markets and stores are cool places to have in order to maintain my diet.

So soon I'll be able to start my experience, which I'm really excited about, and I'm gonna post more stuff about those Super Food products that I ordered, as well as visiting those local food markets and what they have to offer.

In the meantime, I wish you a great day!

Journey Begins

I've been playing tennis and other sports since I was 7 years old and the last 8-9 years I have done that competitively, now playing tennis in the US on a 1-division college level. So I guess I've always been in OK physical condition during my so-called "athlete" years, but OK is just not enough for me, and I know that there are ways to achieve higher physical and emotional well-being. I just didn't know how to achieve that higher level.

Couple years ago, one of my friend from Finland introduced me a raw/organic/super food diet, diet that makes wonders to your physical-and mental health. He had cured himself from all of the allergies that he was suffering, but most of all he cured himself from the disease called MS(Multiple Sclerosis), just by eating right. Eating right for him meant that he started to eat only organic and natural food, anything processed was prohibited. He was also telling me about Super Foods, which I had never heard of before.

Super Food is basically term for foods which are the most nutrient-rich foods in the whole planet, helping you to fight against everything from the flu to aging. They help you boost your immune system and give you all the needed minerals that your body needs. Super Foods are nothing like the food products you get from your nearest grocery stores. The beauty of Super Foods is that they're found in nature, they're raw, organic, and most of all, natural. One of the greatest Super Foods out there is raw Cacao. Chocolate is made out of Cacao, but during the process where raw Cacao is processed into a chocolate bar and put into a Wal-Mart store shelf, it looses all the most important nutrients that it had when it was picked out of the Cacao plant. So the thing with Super Foods is that they're not processed, they're all natural.

Long story short, my plan and the reason why I'm writing this blog is to do changes in my diet, try those Super Foods, and start to eat more raw, organic, and natural food. Instead of going to Wal-Mart's vegetable and fruit section, I try to find markets where they sell organic products. I wanna find out what kind of affects that has in my physical and emotional well-being. It's not easy to change my diet from hamburgers and pizza to something that I've never enjoyed, eating "healthy" food. But most of all I wanna start eating right, in order to achieve better physical well-being. Trough good physical condition I'm gonna be able to feel better emotionally as well.

So I think it's going to be a interesting and educating experience for me and I'm gonna keep posting frequently how I'm feeling at the times and how things are going with the new diet. I'm super excited to start a new life by eating right and feeling great every single day! My Super Foods are being shipped to me at this very moment and they should be here in about 5 days. So until that, I have to take the most of it by eating greasy, unhealthy, but super delicious fast food. As a reward of writing my first blog post, I'm gonna go to Super Size me with some burgers.
